You know what happens at the end of a project. You have a fabulous new something that you’re happy to own or give, but you also have leftovers. Scraps of this and that material. Another material that turned out to be wrong for the job and didn’t get used at all. A whole heap of something you did use, but over-purchased. And once other people know you’re a crafter, you’ll often be gifted with THEIR unused materials, too. It adds up to an abundance.
My favorite way to put the stash to work is to NOT wait for an occasion. Because how often do you really find yourself in need of a wedding, baby shower, or graduation gift? Gifts and luxury items are fun–and you will see me feature them here–but they’re not what I make most.
On the other hand, how often do you need a shopping bag, or a dishcloth, or a scrubber for the bathtub, or new warm mittens? Uh-huh. Me, too. Now THOSE are hardworking items! And there’s no waiting. I enjoy making practical things any time.
I’m trying to post fairly regularly, but that might not always happen. Big, important, heartfelt things occupy the majority of my daily clock. My family, work, and church activities (in any of which you may know me better as AnnaLisa) take priority over crafting and/or keeping a crafting website. Still, I’m excited about this new place. I have long been a reader of other people’s hobby/special interest blogs and am happy to have my own space for sharing crafting stories, photos, links, and tips–and just letting my hair down. Or my mohair, I suppose, depending on the project!
But it’ll be a lot more fun here with YOU! You are welcome to post your comments and questions. Looking forward to your input!
