A New Year’s crafting resolution

happy new yearI’ve never really been one for New Year’s resolutions, but I have one big one for my crochet, knitting, and sewing this year: to complete some projects I’ve mentioned to people but haven’t yet delivered. None is a particular occasion gift, so I’ve had the freedom to delay. Too much freedom, it seems. Enough already.

So, in 2014, I resolve to make

  • a hat made from Grandmother’s hat pattern (for Shanna) 2/1/14 update: Done!
  • some kind of generalized pattern/instruction sheet/tutorial for my plarn market bags (for one of my favorite grocery cashiers, Candy) 6/14/14 update: Candy no longer works at my local store. I still plan to write up that pattern, just not committing to a 2014 finish at this point since I have no one specific to motivate me.
  • a plarn tote (for one of my favorite grocery store staffers, Lorraine)
  • another plarn tote or backpack, possibly with initial (for yet another favorite grocery person, Florence)
  • 2 skirts and a nightgown (for daughter) 6/14/14 update: Nixed this since we got a huge bag of hand-me-downs last month.

I will be sure to post about each of these when it’s finished. I’ll say right now, it’ll probably take me most of the year to get to the end of the list since there will be, as usual, other everyday activities, work deadlines, and regular craft projects in between. I’m okay with that…as long as it happens in the end.

In the meantime, what about you? What are your crafting resolutions? Feel free to link to your own list post, or pictures once you’ve accomplished them, or patterns you’ll be using, with your comment.
